About compost…

  • What are the benefits of composting for the planet ?

Making compost allows us to reduce by half the weight of our bins, thus dividing by two the amount of garbage we need to store or get rid of, which is highly beneficial for the planet because it diminishes the quantity of carbon dioxide emitted by burning our garbage.

  • What can we put in a compost bin?

We can throw away things which decompose easily such as fruit or vegetable peels, paper towels, tissues, cotton, eggshells…

  • How does it work?

The peels and other waste will decompose under the action of living organisms within a few months.

  • What can compost be used for?

Compost is rich in humus, a natural fertilizer which can be used in our garden .

  • How much does it cost?

Not much really. You can dig a big hole at the end of your garden where you will put your refuse, and in this case it’s totally free, or you can use a big box that you will make yourself or buy one, which is cheap.

  • Why should we do that?

Composting is as easy as ABC and very useful. There are not any constraints. It doesn’t require more
time than when you simply throw away your waste in the household waste bin. Making compost doesn’t cost anything.

In addition, thanks to composting, we can make savings (for example there is less fertilizer to buy).

Finally it benefits the planet because it reduces pollution.
